EDISON WITHSTANDS COMEBACK AND UPSETS IRISH

Despite an 8-run deficit in the third inning, Ursuline almost came all the way back, eventually falling 12-10 to Edison on Saturday. Ursuline tallied seven runs in the failed comeback. Emily Holland, Madelyn Miklandric, Maris Barbato, Julia Nutter, and Barbato each picked up RBIs.

Ursuline fell behind early in the loss. Edison scored on a home run by Hannah Christoff in the first inning and a home run by Christoff in the second inning.

Ursuline put up three runs in the sixth inning. Barbato and Nutter all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Edison scored five runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by Edison was led by Becka Evans, Audrey Scott, and Christoff, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Scott got the start for Edison. The hurler surrendered two runs on zero hits over one inning.

Holland was on the rubber for the Irish. The hurler went two innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out three. Paige Ogden threw five innings out of the bullpen.

The Irish socked one home run on the day. Barbato went deep in the sixth inning.

Ursuline totaled 11 hits. Barbato, Nutter, and Liza Barbato all had multiple hits. Maris Barbato led with three hits in five at bats.

Edison collected ten hits on the day. Christoff and Scott each had multiple hits. Christoff went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.
