EP WINS SIXTH STRAIGHT MATCH

EAST PALESTINE, OH- Jessica Franklin’s Lady Bulldog Volleyball team is playing inspired right now.  On Wednesday evening, East Palestine hosted Chaney in a non-conference matchup that put their five-game winning streak on the line.  It was a bit emotional through the day as one of the Bulldog players had suffered an injury the night before, and wouldn’t be available.  So, the team decided to honor their teammate, Alexus Robb, during the match when each coach and player wrote the number 9 (Robb’s jersey number) on their wrists.

The Lady Dogs must have channeled that energy well, as they took the matchup in straight sets (25-6,25-11, and 25-7.  Elle Berger was the player of the game for EP, with 19 points, and 5 aces.  Gia Brestelli scattered the stats with 4 digs, 3 kills, 2 points, and an ace.  Marah Zimmerman was a force at the net with six kills on the night, while Mackenzie Parker had 11 points, seven aces, and six assists for East Palestine.  Ceci Foster also played a big part in the victory with 16 points, five helpers, and 3 aces.

The East Palestine JV’s also took the sweep with a 25-7, 25-6 victory prior to the varsity match.

The Bulldogs (7-2) will now face possibly their biggest challenge thus far as they travel to Wellsville where the Lady Tigers remain unbeaten against EOAC opponents since United and Southern won in 2017.
