SALEM OH- The high octane Salem offense continued to roll on Friday night scoring early and often en route to a 62-35 drubbing of Beaver Local at Sebo Stadium. The Quakers would turn four Beaver Local turnovers (3 fumbles lost, 1 INT) into 27 points, which would prove to be the difference in the game.

After jumping out to a 14-0 1st quarter lead, the Quakers would open up the playbook with a 69 yard bomb from junior QB Jackson Johnson to junior classmate Caden Swiger for 69 yards and a TD. They would then would run their version of the “Quaker Special” when Swiger would connect with Johnson for a TD catch of his own, to give Salem a 27-7 lead.

The Beavers would make things interesting early in the 3rd, cutting the lead to 27-21, but the Quaker offense would slam the door on any thoughts of a BL comeback, ripping off 21 straight points.

Jackson Johnson had a record-setting night throwing for over 440 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air (Exline, Sinkovich, Swiger). Johnson wild spread the ball around having 4 receivers (Exline, Brock Young, Austin Sinkovich, and Swiger) go over 70 yards in receiving. His number one target, senior Blaize Exline would haul in 15 of those catches for over 200 yards and 5 total touchdowns (two receiving, three rushing).

Salem (2-0) continues their tour of Columbiana County next week on the road at East Liverpool.
