FAHS BROTHERS TEAM UP TO TAME THE BEAVERS
COLUMBIANA, OH- The Columbiana Clippers claimed an 8-4 victory on Saturday, despite a big push by Beaver Local in the fifth inning. The Beaver’s big inning was driven by a single by Yanni, a sac fly by Agrow, an error on a ball put in play by Call, and a double by Davis. The Clipps opened up scoring in the first inning, when AJ Perkins singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Columbiana tallied five runs in the fourth inning. The Clipper offense in the inning was led by Steve Anderson, Chase Franken, Perkins, and Evan Kenneally, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Ryan Fahs was credited with the victory for Columbiana. He surrendered four runs on seven hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two. His older brother, Zach Fahs threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Fahs recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for Columbiana. Cunningham took the loss for Beaver. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out one.
Columbiana racked up 13 hits in the game. Franken, Perkins, and Michael Ginocchi all managed multiple hits for Columbiana. Franken led the Clippers with three hits in four at bats.
Beaver Local racked up seven hits. Davis, Call, and Pancake all collected multiple hits for The Beavers.
