FAHS, PERKINS LEAD CLIPS PAST TRIBE

COLUMBIANA, OH-  On a day that looked like baseball would not get played the city of Columbiana was somehow able to sidestep the rain and thunderstorms allowing the Clippers (8-11, 7-3 EOAC) to defeat the Southern Indians 14-6 on a cool, windy Friday evening.

Columbiana pounded out 15 hits on the day including 4 from Ryan Fahs and 3 from Joey Bable.  In addition, AJ Perkins went 2-3 on the day while knocking in 4.  Chase Franken broke the single-season school record for triples with his 7th in the third inning during his 2-3 day.  Evan Kenneally also had 2 knocks and Steven Anderson plated 3 runs on the evening.

Zach Fahs (2-1) picked up the victory for Columbiana going the distance.  Fahs allowed 6 runs (5 earned) while striking out 8 and only walking 1.

The Clippers will next head to Lake Erie for the Wood Bat Classic held at Perry High School.  Columbiana is scheduled to play Mentor Lake Catholic at 3 PM followed by Beachwood at 5:30 PM
