FAITH GETS GRACE THROUGH TO CLEVELAND STATE

HUBBARD OH- Hubbard multiple sport athlete Grace Narkum has made the decision to continue her softball career as a D1 athlete at Cleveland State. Narkum is also a senior leader on the basketball team that is having an impressive start to the season.

It has been a hard year for Grace. In September, Grace’s sister Jess who was a Hubbard graduate class of 2015 passed away from a battle with ovarian cancer . The loss was felt by the entire Hubbard family, and it was an opportunity for Grace, and her family to feel the support and love from the Eagle community. During the volleyball season, Hubbard held a fund raising game for the Narkum family, and it filled the gym in the color teal. Grace says that going through this showed her that she could come back from anything.

Grace couldn’t have gone through this journey without her faith. She is very open about her beliefs and how active she is in the church. She leans on her faith to help her be a fantastic senior leader.

She brings positive energy to the team that makes it easy to navigate the ups and downs of a basketball game, and season. Eagles head coach Scott Slovesko can’t speak highly enough about what she means to the team.
