FALCONS AVENGE EARLY SEASON LOSS

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – In a matchup of teams who are very evenly matched record wise, Austintown Fitch never trailed in their Friday night matchup against South Range as they put away the Raiders 8-2.

Rocco DiFlorio made the presence of the Fitch offense felt right out of the gate when he grounded out to bring a run home. After Fitch scored one run in the bottom of the third, the action packed inning in the game for the Falcons was the bottom of the fourth as they put four runs on the board with Brady Loew, Drew Kaschak, and Jackson Cheeks, all driving in runs in the frame.

The hot bat for Fitch was Hayden Warmouth who had a 2-for-3 day at the dish and Cheeks was the hot man in the RBI department with three. The victorious pitcher was Carter Owens of Fitch. The reliable righty gave his team six and two-thirds innings of work, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out six batters.

Next for Fitch is a quick turnaround to take the home field against a surging Hubbard team at noon on Saturday. Fitch will look to make it six wins in a row and Hubbard will look to start a new winning streak of their own.
