FALCONS BLANK BUCCOS, HOLD STRONG ON TOP

STRUTHERS, OH- The Astro Falcons defeated The Prospects 8-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

The Astro’s fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jake Schneider tripled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

A single by Caleb Hadley in the first inning was a positive for the Prospects.

Jaden Rishel pitched Astro to victory. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking one.  Drew Kaschak threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Coby Airwikie was on the hill for the Prospects. He went two innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out one and walking one. Freddie Bolchalk threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Offensively, the Dirty Birds tallied eight hits. Schneider and Rishel each managed multiple hits for AstroRishel and Schneider each collected two hits to lead the team. The Astro Falcons didn’t commit a single error in the field. Nick Lewis had the most chances in the field with ten.

Hadley went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Prospects in hits.
