FALCONS BREAK OUT BROOMS ON LADY RAIDERS

JEFFERSON, OH- The Raider Volleyball team got swept on Tuesday night by Jefferson Area (10-25 22-25 23-25)

The first set was completely dominated by the Falcons. The Raiders could only get 3 kills to hit the floor and surrendered 7 attack errors as the Falcons took it 10-25.

The 2nd and 3rd sets were much more competitive than the 1st as the Raider defense picked up, Abby George got herself 3 blocks and the Raiders as a team picked up 34 digs. Even with impressive defense, however, the Raiders could not find an offensive rhythm. Their kills leaders were 3 players tied with 4. The Falcons pulled out set 2 22-25 and came back from a 22-19 deficit to take set 3 23-25.

The Raiders kept their strong serving going tonight. As a team, they had 11 service aces, 3 from both Drew Ferren and Emily Irons. Anna Primavera Abby George and Jenna Barbessi lead the team with 4 kills each. Primavera added 6 digs George with 3 blocks and Barbessi with 5 digs. Drew Ferren had 11 assists and 5 digs while Emily Irons had 6 assists 3 kills and 4 digs. Mary Kuhns with the team lead in digs with 14.

The Raiders return to action Thursday hosting Struthers.
