FALCONS FIGHT THROUGH ADVERSITY

AUSTINTOWN OH- In a 3 set match that was much closer than the end result determined, Fitch was able to sweep Howland.

Backed by the strong play of players such as Courtney Clark and Jamie DeSalvo. As well as the emergence of a great young player Amia Silvers. This group of Howland Tigers was able to battle tooth and nail with one of the area’s best Division 1 teams.

Fitch found themselves with a hole at setter, with an early injury to Erin Burke in the first set. Sammi Misik stepped up in a big way, filling that void, and providing enough spark to get the victory.

Jocelyn Jourdan provided the Falcons with a flurry of offense. Including a kill late in the third set after over a minute of back and forth, to help seal the victory 3-0 vs. Howland.

Set breakdowns are as follows

Set 1: Fitch 25 Howland 14
Set 2: Fitch 25 Howland 23
Set 3: Fitch 25 Howland 21

Falcons are back in action Saturday to visit a tough Marlington team. While Howland will look to right the ship with a tri-match Saturday versus both Stuthers and West Branch.
