FALCONS HAVE NO PROBLEMS IN CHANEY

YOUNGSTOWN OH- The Austintown Fitch Lady Falcons, coming off of two hard fought games against both Salem and Poland, were looking to get back on track Saturday afternoon.

On the docket this time? The west-side rivals in The Chaney Cowgirls, who came into the game with a 2-2 record on the year.

Chaney brings more height this year compared to last, as Makayla Beckett, at 6’5”, looks to be a paint presence for the foreseeable future.

On the other side, Fitch brought the scoring, putting up 70 points of offense on the day. A large part due to the amount of turnovers The Lady Falcons were able to create.

The difference maker in this one? Kara Pirone, with 18 points of offense on a very efficient shooting clip, was the games leading scorer for Austintown.

Her shot from the mid-range was money, despite having the much taller Beckett on her from The Cowgirls. However, Pirone showed no fear, taking it to the hole and scoring from the blocks just as effectively.

From the opening tip, to the final buzzer, Fitch took the lead and never looked back. Coming away with the victory and going to 2-2 on the year.

Coming off the win, The Lady Falcons will hit the road to take on Beachwood on Monday, December 6th.

Chaney will look to get back on the horse with a matchup at East Cleveland Shaw Wednesday, December 8th.

As both schools have exchanged victories in multiple sports this season, this edition of the rivalry went to The Falcons.
