FIRTH’S NO NO PAVES THE WAY FOR UNITED

HANOVERTON OH- After the afternoon was filled with rain, United was able to get a game in on Monday night to open the season against Lisbon. Tori Firth made them happy they decided to play. After opening the game with a walk, Firth struck out the side and never looked back.  She hurled a no hitter to open the season, and the Eagles backed her up with a devastating offensive onslaught.  They blew their way to a 18-0 win.

Firth got the Eagles scoring started with an RBI triple in the bottom of the 1st.  The Eagles mashed four home runs on the night.  Grace Coffee, Samantha Lippiatt, Firth, and Josie Wargo all left the yard in the game. Coffee and Lippiatt both led with 3 RBI.

Firth’s final line in the circle was 5.0 IP 0 H 14 K 1 BB 0 ER.  64% of her 83 pitches were strikes.

United will get right back to it on Wednesday as they conclude their series against Lisbon on the road. First pitch is at 5:00.
