FITCH FLEXES MUSCLES ON BLUE DEVILS

Western Reserve had a tough time generating runs on Saturday, dropping their game with Austintown-Fitch 12-2.

Austintown-Fitch got things started in the first inning when Hannah Heath’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for the Falcons.

Austintown-Fitch pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third, McKenna Hogan doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Haley Tarr doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Falcons scored six runs in the fourth inning. The big inning came thanks to singles by Bella Tofil and Hogan and doubles by Elyssa Molody and Maddy Taylor.

Kayla Schubert led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Austintown-Fitch. Schubert went four and a third innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out seven.

Heath was in the circle for Western Reserve. Heath went three innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits and striking out three. Maggie Byers threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Heath went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Blue Devils in hits.

Austintown-Fitch racked up 11 hits on the day. Sophia Senediak, Hogan, Molody, and Tarr all managed multiple hits. Senediak led with three hits in three at bats.
