FLASHES CANT STAND UP TO NEW CASTLE

WARREN, OHIO- The Champion Flashes stayed in it until the end, but the New Castle Hurricanes pulled away late in a 4-2 victory on Thursday.

The Hurricanes trailed 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning when Dominic Cade singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Carson Fife, Tyler Skaggs, Hunter Haines, Zack Morris, and Carter Boggs each collected one hit to lead Champion at the plate. Dominick Ratkovich started the game for the Hurricanes as the pitcher surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, walking zero before Dominick Mrozek was credited with the victory. The bulldog allowed three hits and one run over three innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Fife took the loss for Champion as he lasted six and a third innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out six and walking zero.

Champion will try and bounce back when they take on Cardinal Mooney on Saturday.
