FLASHES SEASON DONE IN BY ROOTSTOWN

NILES, OH – Adam Beery threw a shutout to lead Rootstown past Champion 3-0 on Monday in the division 3 District Semifinal. The pitching was strong on both sides. Beery struck out ten, while Champion pitchers sat down four.

 

A single by Zachary Bickel in the sixth inning was a positive for Champion. Beery lasted all seven innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out ten and walking one. Nathan Holt took the loss for Champion. The hurler went five and a third innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking one.

 

Rootstown racked up nine hits in the game.  Nathan Galambos and Drake Mason each collected multiple hits for Rootstown.  Galambos went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Rootstown in hits.

 

Rootstown will advance to the District Final on Wednesday, the 26th to face off against South Range. Don’t miss it on YSN!
