FLASHES SHINE THE BRIGHTEST

WARREN, OHIO – The Champion Flashes improved their record to 2-0 Thursday as they destroyed MVAC Conference foe Newtown Falls 12-2.

Champion was kept quiet most of the game, all except for the bottom of the third inning when they went off for their 12 runs. The offensive charge was led by Carson Fife, Hunter Haines, Brett Channell, Dylan Howell, Zack Morris, and Micah Nolan who all produced runs.

After a Fife single and Channell walk in the inning, the snowball effect was on for Newton Falls as they did not help themselves, committing two sloppy errors that Champion capitalized on. Bradey Quinby was on the mound for Champion, lasting two and two-thirds innings allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three Tigers batters.

Champion will now prepare to play an 11:00 a.m. matinee ballgame against Geneva on Saturday.
