FOUR CHAMPION HOMERS EQUAL A BLOW OUT WIN

WARREN OH- Abigail Meadors shut down Garfield, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Champion to a 14-0 victory on Tuesday

Champion fired up the offense in the first inning. They scored two runs when Morgan Davis homered.

The Golden Flashes notched six runs in the second inning. Their big bats in the inning were led by a single by Meadors, a home run by Gabby Gradishar, a groundout by Hailey Householder, an error on a ball put in play by Addison Warzala, and a double by Madison Ziegler.

A single by Lizzy Moore in the first inning was a positive for Garfield.

Meadors earned the victory in the circle for Champion. The hurler went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out ten. The ten strikeouts gave Meadors 100 in her career.

The Golden Flashes smacked four home runs on the day. Olivia Gray had a homer in the third inning. Gradishar went yard in the second inning. Davis put one out in the first inning. Meadors went deep in the third inning.

Champion racked up 13 hits on the day. Meadors, Gradishar, Davis, and Isabella Meyer all managed multiple hits. Gradishar and Meadors each managed three hits to lead the way.

Champion didn’t commit a single error in the field. Warzala had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Champion has a big MVAC series on deck as they’ll take Brookfield on Thursday on the road. First pitch from Brookfield is set for 5:00.
