FRANKEN TOSSES TWO-HITTER, CLIPPERS OFFENSE RED-HOT

SALINEVILLE, OH- Columbiana (8-8, 6-4 EOAC) defeated the Southern Indians Wednesday afternoon by a score of 12-0 in six innings.  Earning the victory for the Clippers was Chase Franken.  Franken pitched a complete game allowing two hits while striking out 10.

Offensively, Columbiana was led by Ryan Fahs who collected two hits including a double and knocked in three runs.  Logan Hoschar had an RBI double while Riley McElwain knocked in a run with a single.  McElwain’s single was his first career varsity hit.  Additionally, Erik Hopfenziz and Hunter Zentner singled for the Clippers.  Wayne Davis had an RBI hit by pitch and Franken walked three times and scored four runs for Columbiana.

Columbiana will be back in action Thursday as the Liberty Leopards come to town.  Evan Kenneally will take the bump for the Clipper with game time set for  5 PM.
