FRESHMEN LEAD THE WAY AGAINST LAKEVIEW

CANFIELD, OH- Sam Susany continued to shine as she and her South Range teammates shut down Lakeview, throwing a complete game shutout and leading to an 11-0 victory on Thursday

In the first inning, South Range Varsity Raiders got their offense started. Kelly Szolek grounded out, scoring one run, and the Raiders never looked back.

South Range scored five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by South Range was led by Jamie Feren, Riley DeCiancio, Keira Brogan, and Madison Dado, all sending runners across the plate with RBI’s in the inning.

A double by McKenna Werner in the first inning was positive for Lakeview.

Susany toed the rubber for South Range. The righty surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out six and walking one.

Bacon was on the rubber for Lakeview. The pitcher surrendered six runs on nine hits over two and two-thirds innings, walking zero.  Chadwick threw two innings in relief.

The Raiders racked up 13 hits. Brogan, Juli Stachowicz, Anna Aey, Feren, and Gretchen Bartels each collected multiple hits for South Range. Brogan went 3-for-4, and Aey was 2-3 at the plate to lead the Raiders in hits.
