G-MEN PUT DOWN THE REBELS

By Michael Wolfgang

GARRETTSVILLE, OHIO – A good old fashioned, hard fought, Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference matchup was what Garfield and Crestview provided Monday with the G-Men coming out on top 7-2.

After taking a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the third inning, Garfield wouldn’t surrender the lead and made sure to add on for some insurance in the fourth and fifth innings. Kyndall Hahn was locked in at the dish going 3-for-4 with one RBI, one run, and showed off the speed on the basepaths stealing two bases. Liszt Moore had a stellar start in the pitcher’s circle for Garfield.

Moore had all of her stuff working against the Rebels batters, finishing with a line of two runs on seven hits, one earned run allowed, and striking out four batters over the seven inning, complete game start. Three fielding errors by Garfield gave Crestview life but they were unable to capitalize on those mistakes by the G-Men.

Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. in Columbiana will be the site as these two teams link up again with Garfield looking to grab another win and Crestview looking to even up the season series.
