G-MEN PUT IT IN CRUISE CONTROL

GARRETTSVILLE, OHIO- The Garfield G-Men cruised to an easy victory over Campbell Memorial 16-2 on Tuesday.

The G-Men had their big innings with four runs in the second inning when Ian Hunt singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Jackson Sommer singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs. Then they put up six runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Hunt, Brandyn Bogucki, Sommer, and Vinnie Grandizio, all driving in runs in the inning. Bogucki went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Sommer also led G-Men with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases. Aiden Hill got the win on the mound as the righthander went four innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out six and walking one.

  Leo Grandizio threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Josue Rodriguez took the loss for Memorial. The hurler surrendered 11 runs on four hits over two and a third innings, striking out one.

Garfield and Campbell will matchup with each other again on Thursday at 5:00 pm.
