GARFIELD GETS THEIR PIECE OF THE VIKINGS

GARRETTSVILLE OH-  Aidan Hill was lights out on Friday, mowing down LaBrae with 11 punchouts and leading Garfield to a gritty 2-0 win.

The G-Men righty was in full control on the hill—scattering four hits across seven innings and never letting the Vikings find their groove. He did issue six free passes, but every time LaBrae sniffed a threat, Hill slammed the door.

It was a classic pitcher’s duel, with LaBrae’s Austin Rowe nearly matching Hill pitch for pitch. Rowe tossed six solid frames, didn’t give up an earned run, and struck out six—but a couple miscues behind him and a timely fielder’s choice from Carson Norton in the fifth were enough for Garfield to scratch across a pair.

Brock Pesicek drove in one of the runs and went 1-for-2 at the plate, while Nate Bacskowski and Garet Warnick chipped in with hits of their own. Not a ton of offense, but just enough when you’ve got Hill carving guys up.

LaBrae didn’t go quietly. Landon Brunstetter, Rowe, Lucas Glaser, and Alex Prouty each picked up knocks, and Easton Armstrong was a menace on the basepaths, swiping three bags and walking three times.

Still, Hill was the story—straight dealing all night and carrying the G-Men to the finish line. Next up, Garfield hits the road Monday to take on Liberty.
