GIRARD BOUNCES PAST RAIDERS

CANFIELD, OH- The South Range Boys Basketball team falls to 8-4 on the season and 3-3 in
the NE8 with a loss to Girard, 56-53. The Indians began the game composed and poised, and
took it to the Raiders early. Although South Range continued to fight throughout the game, the
game was tied only twice. Girard carried the play up until half, the Raiders slowly fought back to
cut the lead down in the 3rd and 4th. But Thomas Cardiero and Christian Graziano denied the
Raiders with great defensive play and amazing offensive play. South Range finally tied the
game at 44 late in the 4th, it just was not enough to get the victory. The Raiders offense didn’t
get going until late in the 3rd and ran out of time in the end.

Leading the way for the Raiders was Chris Brooks with 20 points and 3 rebounds. Dante
Digaetano ended with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Brandon Mikos added 2 huge 3’s ending with 9
points and 4 rebounds. Nate Brown played tremendous defense with multiple charging calls
drawn, and also added 5 points.

For Girard, Cardiero ended with 23 points off of 5 3s tonight
and 4 rebounds. Graziano added 13 points and 4 rebounds, Dom Malito finished with 10 points
coming off the bench for the Indians. Ashton Pozega contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds to
propel the Indians over the Raiders.

South Range will be back in action on Friday and will travel to Jefferson in another NE8
matchup. Girard will also be in action on Friday to host Lakeview. Tip-off for the JV will be at
