GIRARD ESCAPES FALCONS COMEBACK BID

GIRARD OH- Girard quickly saw a 28-7 lead evaporate on Friday night. The Indians blinked and saw themselves down 34-28 needing a touchdown to win. They were able to dig deep and find a way into the endzone to hold off Jefferson 35-34.

Michael Palmer was the hero for Girard scoring from 1 yard out with under 2 minutes to go in the game. Palmer rushed for over 200 yards on the day. He also found the endzone 4 times.

Grant Hitchcock finished with 267 yards through the air, and 77 yards on the ground. He threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for another.

Both teams are home for Week 5 as Girard will host Lakeview, and Jefferson hosts Niles.
