GIRARD KEEPS WINNING STREAK ALIVE IN CLOSE WIN OVER LAKEVIEW

CORTLAND, OH- The Girard Indians looked to keep a five game winning streak alive in NE8 play traveling to Lakeview to take on the Bulldogs. The Indians got off to a hot start with a 13-2 run out of the gate, but the Bulldogs clawed back to make it a nail biter in the fourth quarter.

The Indians and the Bulldogs were in a defensive dog fight in the first half with the Girard leading 19-8 at the half. Both teams picked it up offensively in the second half with Girard leading by 9 points late in the second half. Lakeview did not give up in the fourth quarter, as the Bulldogs forced some crucial turnovers down the stretch, but came up empty in the end falling 40-38.

The Indians rattle off there sixth consecutive win and move into third place in the NE8 at 7-2. The Bulldogs fall to 8-8 overall and 4-5 in the conference. Girard plays Ursuline on Saturday, while Lakeview hosts Struthers on Monday.
