GIRARD WALKS AWAY VICTORIOUS OVER WILDCATS

STRUTHERS- The Girard Indians and Struthers Wildcats met in an NE8 conference matchup Saturday afternoon. The matchup took place at the Field house in Struthers.

The Wildcats got off to a great start in the first quarter, leading 6-2 into the first timeout. The Indians adjusted well in the second quarter, and had an 18-15 lead heading into the break. The Indians kept their lead throughout the entirety of the second half, nailing some key free throws down the stretch, and pulling out their second NE8 victory of the 2021 season. Girard would win by a final score of 47-41.

The Girard Indians got a big second half out of Jalaya Brown, who led the team with 16 points. Sophomore guard Sieasia Triplett had a huge night for Girard, scoring 12 points, with a multitude of offensive rebounds.

Struthers was led by Chloe Neider who had a couple 3’s, and finished with 10 points. Ella Croyle matched Neider with 10 points, and battled down low all night.
