HOBAN BRINGING HOME ANOTHER DISTRICT CROWN

CANTON, OHIO- The Archbishop Hoban Knights defeated the Massillon Tigers 6-1 on Thursday to claim a Division I District Championship.

In the first inning, the Knights got their offense started when Andrew Karhoff singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. The Knights then added four more runs in the fifth inning as Parker Falkenstein, Karhoff, and Michael Ciavolella each had RBIs in the frame. The Knights racked up 11 hits on the day as Zack Zimmerman, Karhoff, Falkenstein, and Masud Jennings each managed multiple hits.

Landan Browning was the winning pitcher of the day as the pitcher allowed three hits and one run over six innings, striking out five. Jordan Kievman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Christian Marsh led things off on the mound for the Tigers as he lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out four and walking zero. Brock Polilli threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Archbishop Hoban will now move on to the Regional Semifinal round where they will take on the University School Preppers on June 1st at Oberlin College. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00.
