HOIST THE COLORS, RAIDERS DOWN PIRATES

CANFIELD, OH-  South Range Freshman Jake Gehring didn’t allow a single run against Southeast (OH), throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Raiders to a 10-0 victory on Thursday.  The Raiders got on the board in the first inning. Ben Rivera singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.  The push for South Range would continue as the Raiders notched three runs in the fifth inning.  South Range put the pressure on, lead by singles by Jared Bajerski and Brandon Youngs.  For Southeast, a single by Alex Loske in the third inning was a positive for Southeast.

Gehring (5-2) got the win for Raiders. He allowed three hits and zero runs over six and a third innings, striking out four.  Junior, Chase Miller took the loss for Southeast. He went four and a third innings, allowing eight runs on ten hits and striking out five.

Offensively, the Raiders totaled 11 hits in the game. RiveraKris ScandyJosh Stear, and Bajerski all managed multiple hits for the RaidersRivera went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Raiders in hits, and earn the G. Burbick Farms Game Ball during the YSN Game of the Week Broadcast.
