HOWLAND ENDS THE REGULAR SEASON ON A FIVE GAME WIN STREAK
Howland extended their win streak to five on Tuesday night, wrapping up their league and regular season with a 3-set sweep over Boardman (25-21, 25-22, 25-22).
For Howland, Maya Kubancsek and Sianna Dykes each hammered down 12 kills, while Talia Rishel set them up with 17 assists and chipped in 8 points. Angelina Weems added 6 assists and matched Rishel with 8 points. On defense, Macy McFall led with 11 digs, and Kubancsek contributed 9. Dykes served up 3 aces, with Rishel adding 2. Both Kubancsek and Dykes had 2 blocks.
Boardman was led by Maya Flores, who tallied 11 kills, 6 digs, and 4 blocks. Lily Ison had 8 kills and 5 blocks, while Mazie Kauffman added 8 kills and 7 digs. On defense, Sadie Satterfield recorded 12 digs and 3 assists, Nina Tran and Gianna Commons each had 5 digs, and Ava Commons kept the offense going with 25 assists and 10 digs.
Howland now turns their attention to tournament play, starting their postseason run on October 17th against Hawken. Boardman has one more tournament tune up on Saturday going to Struthers.
