HUBBARD EFFORT COMES UP JUST SHORT AGAINST LAKEVIEW

HUBBARD, OH- Hubbard’s early-season woes continued in Tuesday night’s Northeast 8 matchup against Lakeview, losing their 6th straight match in four sets (25-21 25-12 21-25 25-7), giving Lakeview their 6th straight win.

The first set went back and forth, which even included a Hubbard lead for a short while. But with the Lady Eagles being a young team, inexperience started to show with the Eagles committing errors, ultimately opening the door for Lakeview, and letting them win set one 25-21.

In the second set, the Bulldogs really started to get hot. They got out to a big lead early, and with the help of senior Lexi Inman, who had 5 kills on the night, they pulled away from the Eagles. Lakeview would go on to win this set 25-12.

The third set was a real bright spot for the Lady Eagles. Led by sophomore Haley Croyle, Hubbard really stepped up their aggressiveness, helping them win this set by a score of 25-21.

You could tell that the Eagles really gave it their all in the third set, as they seemed very tired in the fourth set. Lakeview jumped out to a big lead early in the set, and never took their foot off the gas pedal. They ended up winning the fourth set 25-7.
