HUBBARD KNOCKS OFF POLAND FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2007
HUBBARD OH- Hubbard accomplished something they haven’t done since 2007 on Saturday—beating Poland in girls basketball. The Eagles, who have already proven this season they can take down top NE8 teams, followed up last week’s win over then-co-leader Lakeview with another statement victory, defeating Poland 56-32. The win throws the NE8 standings into chaos, creating a logjam at the top of the conference.
Layla Songer led the charge for Hubbard with an impressive 25 points, including three three-pointers. Cara Green chipped in 11 points to help fuel the Eagles’ dominant performance.
Hubbard will look to keep the momentum rolling on Monday as they host Girard, one of the teams now tied at the top of the NE8 standings. Meanwhile, Poland will step outside of conference play to face Salem.
