HUDRAN HITS IN SEVEN RUNS ON SENIOR NIGHT

POLAND OH-  Poland had to battle a little, but Kylee Hudran made sure they walked off the field with a W. The junior came up big in the clutch, driving in a whopping seven runs as the Bulldogs took down Hubbard 10-6 on Friday.

After Hubbard scratched across a run in the first and tacked on a solo bomb from Haleigh Taylor in the third, it looked like they had the early edge. But Hudran flipped the script with a bases-clearing double in the bottom half of the third to give Poland the lead. Cassie Blanch followed that up with an RBI single, and just like that, Poland was up 4-2.

Hudran wasn’t done, either. She ripped a triple in the fourth that brought in three more, basically putting the game on ice. She finished with two hits, both of them huge, and accounted for seven of Poland’s ten runs.

Madison Medvec got the job done in the circle. She gave up nine hits and six runs—only three earned—but struck out nine and walked just one in the complete game effort.

Hubbard made things interesting late thanks to a three-run shot from Layla Songer in the sixth, but Poland’s lead held. Songer and Taylor each had three hits on the day, and Emalee Warren chipped in two more.

Blanch, Medvec, Leanna Boccieri, and of course Hudran all had two knocks apiece for the Bulldogs, who get right back to it Monday against LaBrae. Hubbard will try to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Pymatuning Valley.
