IRISH FIND MOMENTUM HEADING INTO DISTRICTS

STRUTHERS OH- Ursuline took the lead late in the game in a 5-2 victory over South Range on Friday. The game was tied at two with Ursuline Varsity Irish batting in the bottom of the fifth when CJ Frasco doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The Irish got on the board in the first inning. Dylan Casey grounded out, scoring one run.

Nick Bako led Ursuline to victory on the hill. Bako went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out five. Joe Balog and Anthony Triveri entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Konnor Brogan toed the rubber for South Range. Brogan lasted two innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out two. Logan Baxter and Shaun Updegraff entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and two innings respectively.

Luca Ricchiuti led the Irish with three hits in three at bats.

The Raiders didn’t commit a single error in the field. Will Gehring had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
