IRISH GET PUSHED TO THE LIMIT HOLLAND WALKS IT OFF

YOUNGSTOWN OH-

A walk-off triple from Emily Holland led Ursuline past Hubbard 8-7 on Thursday. The game was tied at seven with Ursuline batting in the bottom of the seventh when Holland tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Ursuline built a four-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Hubbard’s charge. Hubbard scored four runs in the failed comeback on a double by Grace Narkum and a home run by Haley Croyle.

The Irish got things started in the first inning. An error scored one run.

Ursuline put up three runs in the third inning. They put the pressure on, led by home runs by Paige Ogden and Julia Nutter.

Ogden took the win for the Irish. The bulldog allowed eight hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five. Holland threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Isabella O’Brien was in the circle for Hubbard. O’Brien lasted six and a third innings, allowing 11 hits and eight runs while striking out nine and walking zero.

Ursuline hit two home runs on the day. Ogden had a homer in the third inning. Nutter had a long ball in the s same  inning.

The Irish racked up 11 hits in the game. Ogden , Holland, Nutter, and Layni Bednar each managed multiple hits. Bednar, Nutter, Holland, and Ogden all had two hits to lead.

Hubbard had 12 hits in the game. Croyle, Sydney Bowser, and Gillian Ryser each racked up multiple hits.
