IRISH KEEP IT ROLLING ON TO REGIONAL FINALS

Emily Holland didn’t allow a single run against Brookside, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Ursuline to a 15-0 victory on Thursday

Paige Ogden led Ursuline to victory by driving in four runs. Ogden went 2-for-3 at the plate. Ogden drove in runs on a sacrifice fly in the first, a home run in the sixth, and a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

The Irish got on the board in the first inning. Ogden ‘s sac fly scored one run.

Ursuline scored six runs in the seventh inning. Madelyn Miklandric, Arrianna Wendt, Layni Bednar, Ogden , and Alyssa Sheely each drove in runs during the inning.

One bright spot for Brookside was a single by Lexi Bartlome in the first inning.

Holland led the Irish to victory in the circle. The fireballer allowed six hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Ursuline launched two home runs on the day. Ogden went for the long ball in the sixth inning. Julia Nutter had a four bagger in the first inning.

Ursuline totaled 20 hits in the game. Maris Barbato, Sheely, Holland, Mia Opalick, Bednar, Nutter, and Ogden each racked up multiple hits. Opalick, Holland, Sheely, and Barbato each collected three hits to lead.

Brookside collected six hits. Faye Clark and Leah Musall each managed multiple hits.
