IT’S MILLER TIME

BERLIN CENTER OH- Western Reserve has plenty of reasons to have an optimistic outlook on the 2020 season. With plenty of ways to score, the Blue Devils can be extremely hard to guard. They have great post play, dominating shooting, and a balanced offense. However, none of that would mean much without a high level point guard to run the offense. Reserve has arguably the best point guard in the area in senior Kennedy Miller.

Kennedy has a mix of a strong ability to score, and high basketball IQ, and unmatched leadership skills. When you mix those qualities together they make for an impressive point guard. Miller already has the Reserve record for career assists, and held the record for three pointers in a game, until her teammate Olivia Pater surpassed it. That alone still can show you how well rounded of a player Miller is. What makes her a fantastic leader is her ability to sacrifice personal stats to distribute the ball to her teammates.

Miller did not wake up this season with a new found skill of being a point guard. She has worked hard at her craft her whole career. She not only plays in the winter with the Blue Devils, she also plays AAU which is a tool to sharpen her game. She also has an unique resource in her dad being her head coach. She has been around the game constantly, and has absorbed all the knowledge she could to become a true point guard, and a better senior leader.

Kennedy took the time to catch up with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig to talk about her senior season. They discuss the team goals this season, being coached by her dad, and so much more. We hope you enjoy the first of many Western Reserve player profiles “It’s Miller Time.”
