JACKSON MILTON BASEBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH MATT RUBY 3-11-25

NORTH JACKSON OH- With a deep understanding of the program and a strong connection to the community, Jackson-Milton baseball head coach Matt Ruby is prepared to guide the Blue Jays through another competitive season. Entering the year, Ruby is focused on continuing the program’s development and ensuring his team remains a tough opponent within the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference (MVAC) Scarlet Division.
The Blue Jays bring back key contributors from last season, including players who have gained valuable varsity experience. The team’s roster features a mix of upperclassmen leaders and younger athletes eager to make an impact. Among those expected to play crucial roles areDrew Sloan, who brings consistency to the pitching rotation, Landon Workman, a major asset turning from injury on the mound and James Croyle
The Blue Jays pitching workhorse a year ago headline the top of the rotation. While newer faces in Brady Anton, CJ Malutek and Blake Hochendoner look to make a mark on the mound with their opportunities this season. Additionally, the Blue Jays will rely on Dom Krol, Jack McDevitt and Jaidyn Henry to help anchor the team’s efforts on the offensive side.
Ruby emphasized the importance of depth, noting that Jackson-Milton will need contributions from multiple players to remain competitive throughout the season. Pitching will be a key factor, and the team will look to establish a reliable rotation early in the year. Developing younger talent and finding consistency at the plate will also be focal points as the season progresses.
