JACKSON-MILTON COACH’S CORNER (EP.1) WITH NATHAN BRODE

North Jackson, OH- Last season was tough for head coach Nathan Brode and his Blue Jays of
Jackson Milton, who finished with a record of two and seven. A big change was needed in the
off-season and that change was in the weight room. In week one, the Blue Jays blew
out rival Leetonia 55-0 with the air-raid man at quarterback in Alex Schiavi. The senior threw for
seven touchdowns, which was a school record.
Schiavi capped that off with a two touchdown performance against Newton Falls as Milton won 16 to
14, shutting down the running game, which has been the main key for the Tigers this season.
Milton was originally scheduled to play Windham, but will now play LaBrae for the first meeting between
these two teams in the 2000’s.
On this episode of the Jackson Milton Coaches Corner, Brode talks to YSN’s
Ian O’Brien about the schedule change, the players who have stepped up, and the turn around in
the off-season. Jackson Milton (2-0) will host the LaBrae Vikings (0-2) 7pm at
Jackson Milton’s community stadium.
