JAYS FLY OVER BLUE DEVILS TO BREAK STREAK

BERLIN CENTER- Friday night the Jays traveled to take on the Western Reserve Blue Devils. For the first time since 2004, Jackson-Milton football left this game with a victory! The Jays played hard all night long and won an exciting game 46-38. The Jays started fast as they raced out to a 20-0 lead before allowing a touchdown right before the half to make it 20-8. Jays came out the second half and extended the lead to 46-22 before a late surge by the Blue Devils.

The Blue Jay’s offense accumulated over 400 total yards, rushing for 229 yards and passing for 181. The Blue Jays had 4 rushing touchdowns on the night (3 from Sr RB Sean Lengyel and 1 from Sr QB Frank Prozy) and 2 passing touchdowns (Prozy connected with Sr. Wr Cole Grope for a 32 yard score and Sr Aaren Landis for a 20 yard touchdown). Leading the Blue Jays again in rushing was Lengyel with 22 attempts for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Prozy carried the ball 12 times for 53 yards and 1 touchdown. Sr FB Noah Kramer finished with 5 attempts for 19 yards while Grope had 2 attempts for 5 yards. Leading the Jays in passing was Prozy who went 8/16 for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also connected on 2 successful two-point conversions, 1 to Grope and 1 to Landis. Cole Grope led all receivers in catches (5) and yards (148) while hauling in 1 receiving touchdown.

Defensively, the Jays were led by Lengyel with 13 tackles and 1 interception return for a touchdown, giving him his 4th total touchdown of the game. Following Lengyel in tackles was Kramer (9), Prozy (8) with 1 sack and 3 tackles for loss, Eythan Evans (8), Landis (6) and Michael Woloschak (6). The Blue Jays forced 3 turnovers on the night which included an interception from Grope, and a fumble recovery for Sr. DL Mark Martin.

The Blue Jays remain undefeated on the year at 4-0 and have a critical week 5 matchup vs MVAC opponent Mineral Ridge.
