NORTH JACKSON OH- Jackson-Milton snapped a five-game skid in style Saturday, sinking 7-of-8 free throws in overtime to edge Cardinal 43-39. The Lady Jays showed composure at the line to close out the win.
Amani Yasin led the way, going a perfect 9-for-9 at the stripe and finishing with 15 points, 7 assists, and 7 deflections. Emma Hunt dominated the boards with 10 rebounds and added 7 points. Emma Johns knocked down three triples on her way to 11 points, while Nora Schwarten contributed 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals to round out a gritty team effort.
Now sitting at 7-8, the Lady Jays aim to get back to .500 on Monday when they host MVAC rival Sebring McKinley. The action tips off at 3:30 with a shortened JV matchup followed by the main event.
