JEFFERSON HAS ALL THE RIGHT STUFF

GIRARD, OHIO- The Jefferson Area Falcons swept the regular season series against the Girard Indians with a 4-2 win on Wednesday.

Girard got things started in the second inning when Aly Wakefield singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run before Jefferson pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning.

Sammi Speakman singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, an error scored another run, and Adrianna Brass singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Chloe Cusano singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Speakman toed the rubber for the Falcons as well, lasting seven innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out 11.

Malina Serrano led the Indians with four hits in four at bats and Emily Rosace started the game for Girard and allowed eight hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

The Falcons will look for their ninth win in a row when they take on Edgewood on Thursday. Girard will try and snap back when they take on Harding on Thursday.
