JEFFERSON JUST TOO GOOD

JEFFERSON OH- Logan Saksa couldn’t miss on Wednesday, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Jefferson to an 11-1 beatdown over Conneaut.

Saksa set the tone right away with a double in the first to drive in the game’s opening run, then doubled again in the third, singled in the fourth, and ripped another double in the sixth for good measure. The kid was locked in.

Conneaut tied things up briefly in the first, but Jefferson answered fast and never looked back. They tacked on three more in the second thanks to an error, a fielder’s choice, and a weird double-play sac that still brought in a run.

Things unraveled for Conneaut in the fourth when Jefferson dropped five more runs on four hits. Everyone got in on the action—RBI singles, a sac fly, and of course, another RBI from Saksa.

Joey Sands was sharp on the bump, going five strong with eight punchouts and just one run allowed. Logan Padgett came on in relief and tossed a clean sixth to wrap it up.

Jefferson racked up 13 hits total, with Michael Riffle and Tate Hudson each collecting multiple knocks. Defensively, they were dialed in too—turning three double plays to keep any Conneaut momentum in check. Jefferson will look to keep it rolling Thursday when they host Perry.
