JEFFERSON UNLOADS ON CONNEAUT

JEFFERSON OH- Rylee DeMattia put together a monster day at the plate Wednesday, driving in five runs to help Jefferson cruise past Conneaut, 12-1.

It was a slow start, with Conneaut jumping out with a run in the top of the first, but once Jefferson found their rhythm, it was all Falcons the rest of the way.

DeMattia got things rolling with an RBI single in the fourth, then blew the game wide open in the fifth with a bases-clearing double that capped off a seven-run outburst. Jefferson stacked hits in that frame like dominoes—triples, singles, walks, and then boom—DeMattia dropped the hammer.

She wasn’t the only one swinging it. Jefferson racked up 10 hits on the day, with DeMattia, Alaina Barress, and Makenna Stanich each collecting two. Marillia Matuz added three walks and swiped a pair of bags to keep the pressure on.

In the circle, Olivia Lewis handled business. She went four innings, allowed just two hits and one run, and fanned five. Ada Sirrine came in to finish it off with a clean inning and two punchouts.

Jefferson played a clean game defensively—no errors—and stayed aggressive at the plate with seven walks. They’ll take that momentum into Thursday’s road game against North.
