JFK BLASTS BRAVES TO ADVANCE

WARREN OH-  Quinn Meola was bad news for opposing pitchers on Thursday, driving in four on two hits to lead Warren JFK past Badger 26-3. Meola drove in runs on a double in the second, a walk in the second, a single in the third, and a walk in the fourth.

Badger scored three runs in the first inning, but the Eagles still managed to pull out the victory. Badger  batters contributing to the big inning included Jacob Toto, Jack Springer, and Logan Klingensmith, who all drove in runs.

The Braves got on the board in the first inning when Toto singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The Eagles pulled away for good with 19 runs in the second inning. In the second Meola doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Jaden Rishel singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Alex DeSalvo tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Jake Hettrick’s sac fly scored one run, Caleb Hadley singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, a pair of errors scored three runs, Aidan Rossi doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, Gavin Shrum drew a walk, scoring one run, Michael Mauro drew a walk, scoring one run, Meola drew a walk, scoring one run, Rishel doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs, and Santino Ciambotti doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Shrum was the winning pitcher for JFK. The pitcher went four innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero. Mauro threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Springer took the loss for Badger. The righty went one and two-thirds innings, allowing 15 runs on nine hits and striking out one.

JFK totaled 18 hits. DeSalvo, Meola, Ciambotti, Shrum, and Rishel all collected multiple hits. DeSalvo went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.
