JOHNS ANNOUNCED AS THE 2024 YSN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

NORTH JACKSON OH- Jackson Milton’s Grace Johns has been named the 2024 YSN Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year, honoring a standout libero who has spent her career mastering the art of passing and digging—skills that are essential yet often underappreciated in the game.

Johns made waves this season, racking up an impressive 508 digs and averaging 6.1 digs per set, showcasing her unmatched ability to keep the ball in play. In addition to her digging prowess, she led her team in serve receives with 568, averaging nearly 25 per match. Over her remarkable high school career, Johns amassed 1,624 digs and finished with 198 career aces, just two shy of the 200 mark. This was her first season surpassing the 500-dig milestone, and her digs-per-set average was the highest of her career.

We congratulate Grace on an incredible season and career with the Blue Jays, and we’re proud to name her the 2024 YSN Defensive Player of the Year! You can see Grace in action at the YSN Volleyball All Star Game on November 9th at Salem High School, starting at 6:00.
