LABRAE KEEPS ADDING WINS TO THE RESUME
COLUMBIANA OH- Riley Rowe was locked in. The LaBrae lefty turned in a gem on Thursday, mowing down 10 Crestview hitters and tossing a six-inning shutout as the Vikings rolled to a 10-0 win. Rowe gave up just three hits, walked two, and kept the Rebels guessing all night.
LaBrae wasted no time getting the sticks going. Leah DeArmitt put the Vikes on the board in the first with a two-run bomb to dead center. Makenzie Lichty worked a bases-loaded walk to tack on another, and Syrina Gantt-Gargano brought in one more with a groundout.
The offense stayed hot in the second. Vada Allen and Madison Johnson each ripped RBI doubles to push the lead to 6-0, and the rout was on.
Crestview’s Makayla Mckee started in the circle but ran into trouble early. She lasted just under three innings, giving up seven hits and seven runs—five earned—while striking out four.
Johnson and Allen were a one-two punch in the lineup, combining for six hits. DeArmitt had herself a day too, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Shelby Bragg chipped in with a pair of hits, and the whole squad showed patience at the plate, drawing five walks—two each from Rowe and Lichty.
Clean defense backed it all up. LaBrae didn’t boot a single ball, and Lichty was a vacuum at her spot, handling 10 chances flawlessly.
For Crestview, Rylee Cloutier was a lone bright spot, going 2-for-2 at the plate. Next up, LaBrae heads to Champion on Saturday for a big-time clash with the Golden Flashes, while Crestview will try to bounce back at home Wednesday against Smithville.
