LADY BULLDOGS DROP NEWTON FALLS

POLAND, OH- It wasn’t tournament play, but the Lady Bulldogs of Poland kept the same intensity as Poland coasted to an easy victory over Newton Falls 10-2 on Saturday.

In the second inning, Poland got their offense started. Abby Farber singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.  The Lady Dogs put up five runs in the fifth inning. Poland’s big bats were led by Cami Lattanzio, Ally Nittoli, Lauren Sienkiewicz, and Farber, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Brooke Bobbey led Poland to victory on the rubber. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out three.

Tara Backherms took the loss for Newton Falls. She surrendered three runs on four hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one.

Poland tallied 12 hits on the day. Sienkiewicz, Ashley Wire, Farber, Bobbey, and Nittoli each managed multiple hits for the Lady Bulldogs. Nittoli, Bobbey, Farber, Wire, and Sienkiewicz each collected two hits to lead Poland. The Lady Bulldogs tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Wire led the way with five.
