LADY CLIPPERS SWEEP SERIES AGAINST EP

COLUMBIANA, OH- The Lady Clippers weathered a scare by East Palestine in the fifth inning where Clippers coughed up four runs, but Columbiana still won 16-4 on Tuesday. The big inning for East Palestine came thanks to singles by Morgan Rutledge and Gia Brestelli and an error on a ball put in play by Ivy Burkett.

Columbiana secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the first inning. Tori LongMadeline HitchcockCessna StoyMaci Linhart, and Alaina Johnston powered the big inning with RBIs.

Tori Long earned the win for the Lady Clippers. The righty allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Ava Davanzo threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Madison Telischak took the loss for East Palestine. The pitcher went four innings, allowing 16 runs on 18 hits.

The Clippers totaled 18 hits. DavanzoMackenzi GambleLongLinhart, and Hitchcock all had multiple hits for ClippersLinhartLongGamble, and Davanzo all had three hits to lead Columbiana.

Rutledge went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead East Palestine in hits.
