LADY DEVILS FALL SHORT IN POSTSEASON PREP GAME

LISBON, OH- Regular season games this late in the season, and intertwined with the tournament are interesting scenarios.  You don’t want to show all your cards, but you’re still chasing victories.  On Friday night, Lisbon lost the lead late in an 8-5 defeat to Bristol on Friday. The game was tied at four with Bristol batting in the top of the sixth when Mya Emmerling induced Billie Miller to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Bristol got things moving in the first inning. Bristol scored one run when Miller doubled.  Lisbon would answer later by notching three runs in the fifth inning. Justyce Vrable and McKenna Dailey all drove in runs in the frame.

Kendyl Switzer was the winning pitcher for Bristol. She surrendered four runs on five hits over four and a third innings, striking out one. Jaylyn Mullenax threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Emmerling took the loss for the Lady Devils. She surrendered five runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one.  Emma Thompson started the game for Lisbon.  She went three innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out one and walking one

Lisbon socked one home run on the day. Autumn Oehlstrom had a four-bagger in the fourth inning that would provide the first run of the game for the Lady Devils.  Kenedy Vrable went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Bristol collected 12 hits. Alayna SinesMillerSwitzer, and Mullenax each had multiple hits for Bristol.
