LADY DOGS RACE PAST UNION

NEW CASTLE, PA- The Poland Lady Bulldogs were not in a mood to mess around Saturday Morning.  Poland sailed to an easy victory over Union 13-4 on Saturday to stay a perfect 6-0 on the season.

Poland took an early lead in the second inning. Ally Nittoli hit a solo homer.  The Lady Dogs took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning.  Cami Lattanzio singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Tori Modarelli singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and Kenzie Szolek singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.  Poland would notch four runs in the sixth inning as well. The offensive onslaught was led by NittoliLauren Sienkiewicz, and Abby Farber, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Brooke Bobbey was the winning pitcher for Poland. She went five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out five. Kaili Gross threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Gross recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Poland.

Blakley took the loss for Union. She allowed 18 hits and 13 runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.

Offensively, Poland racked up 18 hits in the game. SienkiewiczFarberLattanzioSzolek, and Bobbey each managed multiple hits. LattanzioFarber, and Sienkiewicz each managed three hits to lead Poland.

The Lady Scotties racked up eight hits on the day. Blakley and Quinn all managed multiple hits for.  Blakley led New castle union with three hits in three at-bats.
